Very inspiring! I'm 36 with 6 children and am ready to start my path in Family Law. I do not know where to start and would love some advice. My owm divorce attorney has been great encouragement but I love your story of being a women that started later in life. Thanks.

Karin, you make such a compelling argument for leaving the "get a tough attorney and take 'em to the cleaners" mindset. Perhaps there has been too much of this in the movies and that is where that pervasive mindset came from? Thank you for being the champion of a better otpion out there.

This exercise as an illustration of what mature could look like hits the mark Karin. I am blessed with an ex-spouse who remains a partner in co-parenting our daughter in a very healthy and active way. When I hear stories of parents who can't do what is best for their children I feel sadness and gratitude. I feel sadness for the families that have lessons to learn when they don't consider the young ones impacted, where one parent is fighting an uphill battle or the children if asked would say they feel like powerless pawns in a chess game (that was me as child of divorce.) I feel gratitude for the reality that is mine, a willing ex who is a friend and great dad and daughter who is thriving.

I really appreciate how you are a stand for collaborative divorce that is respectful and cooperative and I hope more people find you, refer you and benefit from your heart and expertise.

Your a bold, welcome and comforting voice in a sea of great strife where divorce in general is concerned.
